Every August, I look forward to one day on the calendar more than almost any other — not because of the golf (though that’s pretty great too), but because of what it represents.

The 5th Annual CASA Cares Golf Outing is coming up on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Brookville Country Club in Glen Head, NY, and I want to take a moment to tell you why this event means so much to me — and why I think it should matter to you too.

What Is NS-CASA?
The North Shore Coalition Against Substance Abuse (NS-CASA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2017 in response to a troubling rise in youth substance abuse on Long Island — alcohol, marijuana, and a devastating spike in opioid-related deaths among young people post-graduation.

NS-CASA is made up of parents, educators, healthcare professionals, business leaders, and community members who refuse to look the other way. Through evidence-based prevention programs, parent education, Narcan training, and youth outreach, this organization is quietly — and powerfully — changing outcomes for kids in our community.

I’m proud to serve on the NS-CASA board. I’ve seen firsthand what this organization does, and I can tell you: it works.

What Is the CASA Cares Golf Outing?

The CASA Cares Golf Outing is NS-CASA’s signature annual fundraiser. Now in its 5th year, it brings together the North Shore community for a day of golf, great food, and genuine connection — all in support of a mission that protects our kids.

It’s a full day at one of Long Island’s most beautiful country clubs — and every dollar goes directly toward NS-CASA’s programs.

Why This Matters to Me Personally
I’ve worked in the insurance and financial services industry for nearly 20 years. I’ve built my career on relationships, trust, and community. And I’ve come to believe that the strongest communities are the ones that show up for each other — especially for their kids.
