Building a Better Business Networking Community on Long Island
September 23, 2026
Nooks + Socials Continues to Grow Across Long Island
Business networking on Long Island is growing — and so is the Nooks + Socials community.
What started as a different approach to professional networking has continued to expand across Long Island, bringing together business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who are looking for more meaningful ways to connect.
Today, Nooks + Socials has grown to 215 members from Manhattan to Montauk, with an expanding calendar of events, dedicated networking groups, educational opportunities, and new ways for members to build genuine relationships.
215 Members — and Growing
Nooks + Socials was built around a simple idea: networking should feel more human.
Rather than focusing on transactional introductions or traditional referral quotas, the community is centered around building relationships, helping first, thinking strategically, doing the right thing, and bringing positive energy into every interaction.
That approach continues to resonate.
Today, the community includes:
- 215 members from Manhattan to Montauk
- A 67% membership acceptance rate
- 5 Socials every month
- 15 Nooks every month
Those numbers represent more than growth. They represent hundreds of introductions, conversations, collaborations, educational opportunities, and new relationships happening throughout the region.
What Is a Nook?
Nooks are smaller, focused opportunities for members to connect around shared interests, industries, experiences, or goals.
Depending on the Nook, members may participate in speaker events, educational panels, workshops, facilitated discussions, and other programming centered around business education and connection.
The result is a networking environment where members can go deeper than exchanging business cards.
Introducing the East End Nook
As the Nooks + Socials community expands geographically, we’re creating more opportunities for members to connect closer to home.
Our new East End Nook is a dedicated space bringing together eastern Long Island-based members and creating more opportunities to build relationships without always having to travel west.
The East End Nook is facilitated by:
Micah Schlendorf • Christine Fitzpatrick • Billy Hatzichristos • Joseph Funari
It is another step toward making Nooks + Socials a truly Long Island-wide business community.
More New Nooks Are Coming
And we’re just getting started.
Several additional Nooks are currently in development, including:
- Male Support Nook
- Franchise Nook
- Veteran’s Nook
- Over 50 Nook, facilitated by David Kaufman
Each new Nook creates another opportunity for members to find people with shared experiences, challenges, interests, and perspectives — while still remaining connected to the larger Nooks + Socials community.
A Different Kind of Long Island Business Networking Community
There are plenty of ways to network on Long Island.
Nooks + Socials is building something designed to go beyond simply collecting contacts.
It’s a community built around relationships, education, shared experiences, introductions, and opportunities to spend meaningful time together — whether that’s at a focused Nook, a speaker event, a workshop, or one of our five monthly Socials.
And the continued growth of the community tells us that Long Island professionals are looking for exactly that.
Thank You for Building This Community With Us
Every connection, introduction, conversation, Nook, and Social contributes to what Nooks + Socials has become.
